The Day I Fell In Love With Weddings

It was the summer of 1981. I was a teenager living on the beautiful island of Grand Bahamas, Bahamas, my native country.

For many months, this particular wedding was the hot topic of discussion on TV news and in magazines and newspapers. Every news outlet reported on both families and their genealogy, how the couple met, their engagement, who was commissioned to make the bride’s gown, and a host of other topics.  No stone was left unturned. The whole world, or so it seemed to me, was waiting with anticipation to see the bride (and groom, I guess) and the gown she had chosen to wear.
